What is a Tuckered Tails hike?
A half day adventure for you pup! Pick up and drop off included
What more could a dog ask for! We love to get outside and explore everything the Green Mountain State has to offer and we know your dog does too. During our 2-hour hikes (time away from home is usually 3+hrs with pick up and drop off) your pup will get the chance to run, explore, and just be a dog. He or she will make new friends and have lots of fun, but they will also learn tons about being part of a pack and how to interact with other dogs. Socialization is a important part of every dog's life which is why we LOVE PACK HIKES!

Who can join the pack?
All Pack Hike members must:
1) Have good trail skills like recall and basic commands.
We will work on improving these skills on the trail! But dogs must have some skills to jump off from!
2) Be reliably friendly to all dogs and people they might find on the trail!
We hike on private land for our pack hikes, so we don't meet many strangers, but occasionally we do!
3) Live in Waterbury or very close by
4) Sign up for at least one hike per week with the intention of becoming a long term pack member!
I spend a lot of time getting to know the pups, so short term placements of a couple weeks or a couple months is not the best fit.
5) Be at least one year old and placed with current family for at least 6-months.

What does my dog need to join?
Required:
1) all "core" vaccines (titer test ok!) and a clean bill of health
2) A well-fitted collar with Identification tags (please make sure your dog's collar does not easily fall/pull off)
Recommended:
3) If you dog is e-collar trained I do recommend you send your dog with his/her e-collar at least the first few hikes! I am a very experienced user and have seen/used all types! E-collars are not required for non-users by any means, but if it is something you use on hikes with them, it is best to send it with!
4) I am always a fan of a gps collar like Fi or Tractive! or even just an AirTag! But definitely not required
5) A high-quality jacket for the winter season (I love Ruffwear! Just ask for my top picks! If you are in the market, please ask me for tips before you buy!)
6) An orange vest for hunting season (really any orange vest will do! but no bandanas please!)
We bring leashes and plenty of treats!
